How to Use a Fishing Magnet in Palworld
Reach Salvage Spots, complete the timing minigame, and spend Powerful Fishing Magnets efficiently.
Fishing Magnets are for Salvage Spots, not for catching Pal shadows with a rod. Ride a Water-element Pal to a Salvage Spot, interact with it, and stop the moving marker inside the green zone.
Find a Salvage Spot
Travel over open water and look for a salvage interaction rather than a fish shadow. Keep a Fishing Rod equipped and ride a Water-element Pal; Water flying mounts also qualify for the interaction.
Complete the minigame
Activate the spot and watch the yellow marker rotate around the circle. Press the use action while it overlaps the green band. A failed attempt can be retried and does not consume the magnet.
When a Powerful Fishing Magnet is required
Higher-level salvage areas around regions such as Feybreak and Sakurajima require a Powerful Fishing Magnet. It is consumed only after a successful salvage. Craft one from Hexolite after unlocking the relevant Technology.
Improve salvage rewards
Jellroy in the party improves salvage item yield, and higher condensation strengthens the effect. Save Powerful Fishing Magnets for reward pools that contain materials or blueprints you actually need.
Fishing and salvage are different
Normal fishing needs bait and a rod, while salvage needs a Water mount and may need a magnet. Use the bait guide when your target is a Pal shadow rather than an underwater salvage point.
