How to Get Chromite in Palworld

Reveal buried Chromite on Feybreak with a Metal Detector or Smokie and plan a repeatable route.

Chromite is buried on Feybreak and does not look like an ordinary surface ore vein. Reveal it with a Metal Detector or Smokie's Dig, Dog! Dig! partner skill, then mine the exposed deposit.

Prepare a detector

The Metal Detector is a late-game Technology craft that needs Nightstar Sand among its materials. Smokie provides an alternative after you capture it and craft its Pal Gear. Either method can reveal a deposit; you do not need both to make the ore appear.

Search Feybreak caves

Feybreak caves and underground boss areas contain repeatable Chromite nodes. Move slowly with the detector active or trigger Smokie's skill until the buried spot is marked. The Interactive Map can help you identify Feybreak cave entrances before starting a circuit.

Mine with Smokie active

Keep Smokie out when breaking a revealed node because its partner effect can increase the Chromite yield. Condensing Smokie strengthens that gathering bonus, making a known cave loop much more productive than wandering without it.

Use expeditions as a passive source

Advanced Pal Expeditions can return Chromite after the relevant destination is unlocked. This method is slower than a focused cave run but requires no active mining and works well between other tasks.

Build the supply chain

Chromite is combined with Hexolite Quartz for Hexolite and other advanced recipes. Farm Nightstar Sand before crafting the Metal Detector, and keep enough carrying capacity for a multi-node cave route.
