Where to Find Coal in Palworld
Mine Coal deposits, build a repeatable route, and unlock passive base production.
Coal deposits are concentrated in dry and mountainous regions, with useful clusters in the Desiccated Dunes and other high-level areas. Mine the dark rock nodes with an appropriate pickaxe or a Pal with sufficient Mining suitability.
Plan a mining circuit
Use the Interactive Map to find several Coal nodes close to one another and near fast travel. Bring a high-capacity mount or carrying bonuses because Coal is heavy and a full cluster quickly fills the inventory.
Use a Mining Pal
Deploy a Pal with Mining suitability high enough for Coal deposits. A strong miner clears nodes faster than a weak pickaxe and lets the player manage enemies or storage during the run.
Build near a cluster
A resource base can automate natural Coal nodes if the Palbox area covers them and miners can reach them. Keep storage close, provide beds and food, and avoid placing foundations directly over the respawn points.
Unlock base production later
The Technology tree eventually provides a Coal production structure. It trades building space and worker time for a predictable base supply and removes the need to protect natural node respawns.
Use Coal efficiently
Coal combines with Ore for Refined Ingots and is also used for Carbon Fiber and advanced materials. Keep a reserve before spending it on optional recipes, especially when your next equipment tier needs Refined Ingots.
