Best Palworld 1.0 Base Locations
Compare practical base coordinates for early progression, raid defense, oil, Hexolite Quartz, mixed resources, and endgame scenery.
The best Palworld base location depends on what the base must do. A compact ore camp is useful early, a cliff can simplify raid defense, and a late-game factory may be chosen around oil or Hexolite Quartz. Use the coordinates as scouting targets rather than exact Palbox placements: terrain, node coverage, and build boundaries should be checked in your own world before you commit materials.
Best early ore base: Golden Hills (0, -524)
Golden Hills is accessible early and places several ore nodes near dense forest. The area is close to the Windswept Island Watchtower and its natural approaches are easier to defend than a wide open field. Its main drawback is limited room, so keep the first layout compact and leave clear paths between the Palbox, storage, and ore nodes.
An alternative near (8, -526) can cover roughly four ore nodes when the Palbox is centered carefully. Use the Interactive Map to scout both positions before moving an established starter base.
Best mixed early base: East Investigator's Fork (-162, -188)
This flat clearing south of the Twilight Dunes offers nearby ore, sulfur, and access to hardwood. It has enough utility to become a longer-term production base, but it lacks natural raid protection. Build defensive walls without narrowing worker paths, and do not wander into the harder desert biome unprepared.
Best defensive mining base: mountain at (188, -37)
The mountain near the Sealed Realm of the Mystic combines ore and coal with terrain that is difficult for ground raids to reach. The first build takes more effort because foundations and pillars must work around the uneven surface. Center the Palbox to cover the nodes, keep structural pieces away from their spawn points, and test whether Mining Pals can reach each node before expanding vertically.
Best isolated defensive base: Abandoned Ruins (-82, 190)
The raised ruins near Icy Weasel Hill Watchtower are a strong choice when safety matters more than local resources. Attackers have difficulty reaching the high platform, but the site provides almost no natural production. Place the Palbox near the center of the usable top surface and plan to import materials from another base.
No location should be treated as a guarantee that a raid will never trigger. Terrain and pathfinding can make a raid ineffective even when the event still begins.
Best oil-and-building base: Sakurajima (-645, 273)
This Sakurajima site combines a large, mostly flat build area with oil and nearby coal and sulfur. A dungeon and waterfall are close enough to make the location useful for both production and travel. The land has no strong natural raid barrier, so reserve part of the wide perimeter for defenses and avoid covering the oil nodes with foundations.
Best three-node oil target: Mount Obsidian coast (-855, -456)
The ocean side below the Mount Obsidian Trail can fit three oil nodes inside one carefully positioned base boundary. Scout the complete circle before placing the Palbox, because missing one outer node defeats the purpose of the location. Heat protection and reliable electricity should be ready before this becomes a full production base.
Another three-node option lies on Oasis Isle around (917, 193). It can also cover a possible Kinship Peach spawn near the water. Use a capable Transporting Pal and place nearby storage so gathered items do not remain on the ground.
Best Hexolite Quartz base: Frozen Coral Hill (-1064, -1428)
The small hill above Frozen Coral Hill Watchtower can cover three Hexolite Quartz nodes, making it a strong specialized late-game mining site. Palbox placement matters more than total floor space: capture all three nodes first, then use the remaining hill for storage, power, and worker support. The exposed edge also rewards a compact vertical build.
Best cold-region mixed resource base: (141, 416)
The peninsula east of the Land of Absolute Zero combines a crude oil node with quartz, ore, coal, and stone. Settle closer to the mountain on the larger flat section instead of forcing the entire factory onto the steep eastern edge. This position is exposed and can be difficult to defend, so establish walls and combat support early.
Best scenic endgame base: World Tree Entrance (-809, 683)
The entrance near the Foot of the World Tree offers seclusion and one of the game's most distinctive views. It has limited flat terrain and almost no local resources, which makes it a poor first base but an appealing endgame home once fast travel and production bases are already established. Build a small test platform first to check the light, build boundary, and sightline before moving rare furniture or breeding infrastructure.
How to choose before placing the Palbox
Visit the location with the Interactive Map open, mark every resource node you want inside the circle, and place a temporary foundation to test the slope. Check worker paths between nodes, storage, food, beds, and production buildings. Finally, imagine the raid approach and leave space for walls without blocking the same paths your Pals use every day.
Use separate bases for separate jobs when possible. A compact mining camp, a roomy breeding or crafting base, and a scenic home are usually easier to manage than one overloaded site trying to do everything.
